RingCentral Connect Platform Sees Massive Success

By Rory Lidstone
March 04, 2016

RingCentral, a provider of cloud business communications and collaboration solutions, released two pieces of news this week relating to its APIs. The first is that the RingCentral Connect Platform has experienced rapid growth in the year since its launch. The second piece of news is that the company is broadening the availability of its WebRTC APIs.

These announcements come roughly a month after RingCentral launched a new cloud-based UCaaS service called Global Office. Global Office provides organizations with the ability to act as local businesses in different geographic regions around the world.

The RingCentral Connect Platform has, in only one year, surpassed the milestone of one million API requests per day. In addition, it experienced an increase of more than 50 percent in API requests from third party developers in the fourth quarter of 2015. The platform offers developers a set of tools and services to build, deploy and manage custom integrations using RingCentral’s set of open APIs.

Integrated with a number of leading SaaS providers—including Salesforce, Microsoft Office 365 and Google for Work—the RingCentral Connect Platform enables customers’ employees to be more productive to maximize efficiency at work.

As for RingCentral’s WebRTC APIs plans, the APIs are now available to third party developers in beta, opening up direct access to RingCentral’s voice services. The WebRTC APIs allow developers to integrate voice capabilities into web browsers and apps, empowering them to continue innovating on new ways to bring RingCentral’s enterprise cloud communications into their business applications and websites.

“The tremendous growth of our RingCentral Connect Platform is a testament to the heightened success of cloud communications and the market demand for interoperability,” said Kira Makagon, executive vice president of Innovation at RingCentral. “We’re excited to have the developers leverage our open WebRTC API so that businesses can continue to improve upon customer satisfaction.”

If the latest in innovative APIs interest you, be sure to check out All About the API, an event bringing together companies and APIs with the developers and product managers looking to be where the next opportunity lies. The conference will take place July 18 to 21 at Caesar’s Palace, Las Vegas.
