Drchrono Announces Four New Partners

By Casey Houser
April 08, 2016

Drchrono, a developer of electronic health record software, recently announced that it has aligned itself with four new partners that will use the Drchrono API for connection to their own healthcare applications.

Health Gorilla, Inuvio, Medisafe, and Wink Health will now join the many others that contribute to the 21 million API calls that access Drchrono each quarter. Their applications run natively on various operating systems and will join Drchrono in its native support for iPhone and iPad and its extension to other devices through web-based transactions.

Health Gorilla has made its mission to allow physicians to order lab results without the overhead associated with usual processes. It will now have the ability to link all U.S.-based medical laboratories that join the company’s Secure Clinical Network. Any physician within that network can now request data and images that labs can send directly through the shared space. With Drchrono always active behind the scenes, requests can take place with just a few clicks or taps and will not overburden labs to manually provide access to those assets.

Inuvio wants to change how healthcare facilities gather data about their patients. Its PatientCollector software works in the cloud for universal access from any web browser. It automatically grabs information from scanned physical documents – insurance cards, driver licenses, and similar – and imports that digital data into the PatientCollector platform. Now the data can make its way to the Drchrono electronic health record to combine with all other sets of patient data a hospital or physician gathers.

Medisafe, a medication tracking application, has also made its way into a new partnership. It has embedded its medication management software into Drchrono to give hospital officials quick access to records about any patient’s medication use. Its identification of existing medications within a patient’s chart can help physicians better prepare for follow-up visits and help them prescribe more or fewer medicines as needed.

Wink Health sets itself apart in its study of sleep cycles. Now, its connection to Drchrono means that physicians can order a Wink Health sleep apnea diagnostic kit from within Drchrono and expect Wink Health to ship the testing device immediately to the patient. When the patient receives the device and begins to use it, the Wink Health officials can remotely pull data about a patient’s condition and link it to Drchrono where physicians can review it in their offices.

Use of the Drchrono API in these various situations reflects what participants of the upcoming All About the API conference will see in its presentations and demonstrations. TMC’s newest conference will seek to explore all aspects of the API community and how it can help businesses connect with partners to expand access to patient and consumer services.
