Sionic Mobile Releases White Label Marketplace API for Partners

By Rory Lidstone
April 07, 2016

Sionic Mobile this week introduced a new white label version of its ION Digital Merchant Marketplace. An application programming interface (API) facilitates integration of the market with existing mobile applications, making it possible to give partners’ app users access to Sionic’s premiere mobile rewards marketplace, which represents more than 100,000 merchant locations across the country.

This is a major step forward for Sionic Mobile, which reached the milestone of being accepted in more than 50,000 different locations across the United States little more than a year ago. Now boasting more than 100,000 merchant partners—including retailers like Banana Republic and GameStop, along with eateries like IHOP, Panera Bread and more—the company is aiming to further spread its ION digital marketplace with its white label offering.

“Sionic Mobile is committed to helping businesses leverage innovative technology and the mobile channel to better engage and connect with customers,” said Spencer White, chief operating officer and executive vice president of Sionic Mobile. “Leveraging our new API allows companies to offer new and unique rewards opportunities to current app users, and cultivate adoption of new ones. Access to our digital mobile marketplace provides an immediate and vast footprint for our partners.”

With this new white label offering, Sionic Mobile can enable companies to leverage the licensed Sionic API to drive greater adoption and more frequent use of their own mobile apps. In addition, this offering can be used as a powerful customer acquisition and retention tool by enabling users to make purchases and receive real-time incentives for every checkout at big brand national retailers and restaurants, as well as spas, hotels and theaters.

Companies can also decide how they want to reward their app users, whether in points of instant savings at the point of sale. Traditionally, points earned as part of the ION Rewards program can be used like cash at participating retailers.
