Fonteva Introduces Developer Framework for Salesforce

By Paula Bernier
April 20, 2016

Fonteva Inc. has introduced a new development framework called Spark that’s built natively on Salesforce.com. This framework helps large organizations, systems integrators, and software vendors that employ Salesforce to more easily build scalable apps, have more control, and port their apps to other platforms, according to this Salesforce partner.

“Salesforce was not originally architected as a platform for the largest applications, organizations and multitenant situations,” according to a Fonteva spokeswoman. “For one thing, Salesforce schedules updates/changes three times a year, not to mention any unscheduled glitches or outages that may occur that could interfere with the stability of applications sitting on this platform.”

The Fonteva solution, the company notes, also helps these entities address the fact that with Salesforce it can be difficult to:

• control interactions and trigger misfires that cause problems in application development;

• build an app that scales if you don't have a container or framework to modularizes your code;

• efficiently create integrations between alternate systems, which can require costly customizations and API overage charges;

• build core dependent apps on top of Salesforce without any interferences or code conflicts that can adversely impact applications;

• control your product roadmap and development resources;

• port your application over to another platform, should you have to at some time in the future;

• and have full developer control over a stack.

Spark addresses that by providing APIs and containers that dispatch and control logic so users can focus on building apps rather than concerning themselves with code conflicts, and related issues.

“Frameworks have become indispensable to the developer of custom applications,” said Stephen Hendrick, principal analyst at Enterprise Strategy Group. “Frameworks enable all aspects of an application to be developed faster, easier, and with higher intrinsic quality.”

All of the above ties into the theme of a new and upcoming event that Technology Marketing Corp., the parent company of Devsworld, is staging this August in Las Vegas. For more information on All About the API, click here.
