CA Technologies Named Leader in Gartner Magic Quadrant

By Alicia Young
November 04, 2016

The results of the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Full Life Cycle API Management are out, and CA Technologies has plenty of reason to celebrate. The company, which creates software that enables transformation for companies and enables them to get involved in the application economy, was named a Leader in the report.

This is exciting news for CA Technologies. Any kind of recognition from Gartner is helpful in that it gets the company’s name out there as a trusted source. However, being included in the Leaders Quadrant means that the company executes well against their current vision and is positioned for the future—the best possible recognition a company can gain. This is high praise from a company like Gartner, and from the sound of it, CA Technologies deserves the Leader title.

One of the reasons CA Technologies earned this designation is because it is helping companies prepare for the future by embracing the API economy. “Certainly the API economy is only just beginning to emerge, and the hype around it is still growing as digital strategies and the pervasive use of the Internet of Things (IoT) unfold. An organization's API strategy underpins its digital strategy — and is a sizable portion of it — so engaging with the API economy is an integral part of any digital strategy,” wrote Gartner Analysts Paolo Malinverno and Mark O’Neill, in the report.

CA Technologies’ API Management solutions work by improving the API life cycle management processes. It does this through planning, designing, integration and security, testing, deployment, management and monitoring. The company’s portfolio offers several API tools that allow enterprise stakeholders, including developers and enterprise architects, business managers and security professionals, to speed development while simultaneously integrating, creating and securing APIs to digitally transform their businesses.

The company recognizes that this is one of its strong points: “CA’s scalability, security and multi-cloud support for APIs continues to be a strength of our API Management solutions,” said Rahim Bhatia, general manager, CA API Management. “CA is changing the entire application development dynamic with its creation, management, security, and mobile enablement of APIs.”

This focus on APIs and the future has paid off in the Gartner Magic Quadrant, and is sure to continue to do so in the future. If CA Technologies keeps up the good work, it’s bound to see more recognition come its way.
